Travel Grantee 2024 Alberto Chiappa
In June 2024 Alberto Chiappa attended the FENS Forum in Vienna:
"Attending the FENS Forum 2024 in the beautiful city of Vienna was a fantastic opportunity to stay up-to-date with the latest research in neuroscience and to expand my network within the scientific community.
During the conference, my PhD advisor, Prof. Alexander Mathis, and Prof. Mackenzie Mathis were honored with the Eric Kandel Young Neuroscientists Prize. It was great to see my work, along with that of my colleagues from our lab, presented to such a large audience during the panel talk.
I also had the privilege of presenting my recent work on modeling the human sensorimotor system during one of the poster sessions. Engaging with a diverse pool of researchers about what we can learn about motor control by training artificial neural networks to solve control tasks in accurate musculoskeletal simulators was particularly enlightening.
This conference was definitely one of the highlights of my PhD!"
